Background: Current resident of Missouri City, Texas, but born and raised in Portland, Arkansas, a small farming community in the south east region of the state, known as the Delta. BA, with Psychology major, Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (Purdue University). I see myself as a self-taught artist, but with experiences that include both formal and informal training. Formal classroom training includes courses in design, color, perspective and studio drawing at University of Arkansas Monticello, University of Arkansas Little Rock and Triton Jr. College in Chicago. Also benefited from a number of informal or private tutoring in Houston which included an introduction to painting: acrylics and oils. Other artistic training experiences, a jewelry design course at New York Institute of Art and Design (formally the Sheffield School) and a sculpturing course at the Gazelle School in Houston. Exhibits includes University of Houston, 1991 and several local festivals. Currently, part-time Art Teacher with Michael's Craft Stores.
A word about my
art: I enjoy creating just for the simple
enjoyment of creating, but I hope that there is a visual voice in what I do
which speaks to the experiences of life, faith and the unseen forces that
transform and unite all.
